• Project management (DIN 69901-5) "Totality of leadership tasks, organisation, techniques and means for the initialization, definition, planning, control and close-out of projects".
• Which project types exist? Investment projects, Organization projects, Research projects, and development projects.
• What is project success? Project success is when the time, cost and performance objectives (magic triangle) are accomplished and the important stakeholders are satisfied).
• What is project management success? The effective and efficient use of methods and tools of project management, to increase the economic success and satisfaction of the stakeholders.
• List the different project phases. Initialisation phase, Defintion phase, Planning phase, Control phase, and close-out
• Describe status & tasks of the project initialisation phase In this phase the initiative is usually still vague and full of uncertainties, it's only an idea.The objective of the initialisation phase is the systematic evaluation of the project idea.Project management tasks: Collect information and environmental factors about the project idea and general project background Understand and define the projects objectives and content in order to plan all other meassures accordingly The project owner is an essential participant during this phase.
• Describe status & tasks of the project definition phase The objective of the definition phase is: to decide the project objectives, to identify the interested parties and essential milestones, as well as to assess the overall feasibility. A compelling project definition is the main requirement for the formal project approval.
