- What is a CEO? -stands for 'chief executive officer' -the CEO takes care of the day-to-day running of a company -main manager and best known member -some CEOs also serve as the chairman/woman of the board of directors or the president of their company -job titles are not fixed in law, so translations can vary according to the type of company -many different translations of CEO: often CEO = boss, company head CEO = Konzernchef, Vorstandsvorsitzender, Präsident (larg companies) CEO = Geschäftsführer, Generaldirektor (smaller companies)
