Englisch Vokabeln (Subject) / Verben - ing-Form oder to plus Infinitiv? (Lesson)
Die Anwendung der ing-Form ist im Englischen sehr gern gesehen und sollte, wo korrekt, auch eingesetzt werden. Manche Verben MÜSSEN mit der in-Form gebildet werden, manche können mit der Ing-Form ODER dem TO plus Infinitiv benutzt werden und bei manchen Verben geht NUR die To plus Infinitivform.
Für manche Verbengruppen gibt es "Regeln/Hilfen", manche passen in keine "Logik" hinein und es muss einfach gelernt werden, wie sie gebildet werden.

- The government agreed (pay)..... compensation to to the families of the victims The government AGREED TO pay compensation for the families of the victims. AGREED immer mit TO!
- The woman claims (know).... the identity of the killer. The woman claims TO know the identity of the killer. CLAIM immer mit TO!
- She insisted (see)..... the manager. She insisted ON seiing the manager. Verben mit Präposition folgt IMMER die in-Form!!
- She demanded (see).... the manager. She demanded TO see the manager. demand: immer mit To-plus-Infinitiv.
- We are looking forward (see).... you next month. We are looking forward TO seeing you next month.... forward to gehört immer zusammen: daher danach die Ing-form - auch wenn "to seeing" komisch klingt im ersten Moment!
- He admitted (steal)..... a mobile phone from a classmate. He admitted stealing a mobile phone from a classmate. admit immer mit Ing-form im Anschluss.
- We must avoid (make)... promises we cannot keep. We must avoid making promises we cannot keep.
- The architect suggested (install).... one larger window instead of two small ones. The architect suggested installing one larger window instead of two small ones. suggest immer mit Ing-form!!
- She is thinking (emigrate).... She is thinking ABOUT/OF emigrating. Verb mit Präposition (about/of) = danach immer ing-Form!
- He promised (come) .... back the next day. He promised to come back the next day. Promise immer mit To plus Infinitiv!

- Several athletes have confessed (take).... drugs. Several athletes have confessed TO takING drugs. nach Verben mit Präposition (to) IMMER Ing-Form.
- He promised (come).... back the next day. He promised to come back the next day! promise immer mit To plus Infinitiv!!
- Many people would not dream (drink).... tap water even though it is just as safe as bottle water. Many people would not dream OF drinking tap water even though it is just as safe as bottle water. nach Vert mit Präposition (hier of) immer Ing-form!!
- I like (dance). I like danCING! nach Like (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- I love (run) .... long distances. I love runNING long distances. nach lovev (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- I enjoy (work).... at home. I enjoy workING at home. nach enjoy (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- I prefer (not go)... to school today as I am ill. I prefer not goING to school today as I am ill. Nach prefer (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- I do not mind (talk) .... to my ex boyfriend. I do not mind talkING to my ex boyfriend. nach do mind/do not mind (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- I hate (speak).... German the whole time. I hate speakING German the whole time. nach hate (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- I dislike (drive) .... old and slow cars. I dislike drivING old and slow cars. nach Dislike (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- Do you enjoy (sleep)... in the afternoon? Do you enjoy sleepING in the afternoon? nach enjoy (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- Did they appreciate (go).... on holiday that late in year? Did they appreciate goING on holiday that late in year? nach appreciate (Verb des Mögens und NIchtmögens) kommt immer eine Ing-form!
- When do you begin (cook)? When do you begin cookING? Nach begin (Verb des Beginnens, Fortführens, Beenendens) kommt immer die ING-form.
- I will start (learn) ... vocabularies very regularly, I promise! I will start learnING vocabularies very regularly, I promise!! Nach START (Verb des Beginnens, Fortführens, Beenendens) kommt immer die ING-form.
- Should we carry on (hear) music the whole evening? Should we carry on hearING music the whole evening? Nach carry on (Verb des Beginnens, Fortführens, Beenendens) kommt immer die ING-form. Ausserdem hier Präpposition "on", daher auch in jedem Fall ING-form!
- Let´s continue (think) about the background of this story. Let´s continue thinkING about the background of this story. Nach continue (Verb des Beginnens, Fortführens, Beenendens) kommt immer die ING-form.
- They finished (order)..... newspapers some months ago. They finished orderING newspapers some months ago. Nach finish (Verb des Beginnens, Fortführens, Beenendens) kommt immer die ING-form.
- Never give up (learn).... maths. Never give up learnING maths! Nach give up (Verb des Beginnens, Fortführens, Beenendens) kommt immer die ING-form.
- They told they have stopped (eat).... so much. They told they have stopped eatING so much! Nach stop (Verb des Beginnens, Fortführens, Beenendens) kommt immer die ING-form.
- Are you looking forward (see) them? Are you looking forward to seeING them? nach Verben mit Präposition immer die ING-form!

- I am really looking forward (finish) .... this project. I am really looking forward TO finishING this project looking forward = Verb des Freuens = ing-Form
- Are you in the mood (watch)... a movie? Are you in the mood OF watchING a movie? in the mood of = Verb des Mögens = ing-Form!
- Sie beschlossen, nach XY umzuziehen. They decided TO move to XY.
- Sie wussten, sie würden es lieben dort zu leben. They knew they would LOVE To live there.
- Ich erwarte dort kontaktiert zu werden. I EXPECT TO be contacted there.
- Ich kann es mir nicht leisten das zu kaufen. I cannot AFFORD TO buy that.
- Er hat sich entschieden dort zu bleiben. He DECIDED TO remain there.
- Er machte damit weiter den Brief zu schreiben. He CONTINUED TO write the letter.
- Wir hatten vor umzuziehen. We INTENDED TO move AUCH ok: WE INTENDED MOVING
- Sie hoffen zu gewinnen. They HOPE TO win.
- Ich versprach zu sagen.... I PROMISED TO say...
- Sie weigern sich das Land zu verlassen. They REFUSE TO leave the country.
- We können es uns leisten später zu kommen. We can AFFORD TO come late.
- Ich beabsichtige Dir zu helfen. I INTEND TO help you ODER I INTEND HELPING you.
- Er entschied sich zu kämpfen. He DECIDED TO fight.
- Er begann sich zu waschen. He STARTED washING. ODER He STARTED TO wash.
- Sie bieten an mitzukommen. They OFFER TO come with them.
- Ich mag es zu duschen. Ich würde es mögen zu duschen (wenn wir die Möglichkeit hätten) I LIKE HAVING a shower. I would LIKE TO have a shower, if we had the chance.
- Ich liebe es zu shoppen. Ich würde es lieben zu shoppen, wenn ich eine Frau wäre. I LOVE shopPING. I WOULD LOVE TO GO shopping, if I were a woman.
