- Summary The objective of an effective project start is to secure a common understanding between the project owner and project manager. The project can only be planned with a clear focus on this foundation. The project start is relevant because the project costs can be strongly influenced at this point. The project start is not a specific point in time but a time period. The project start can be viewed in a narrow sense (does not contain detailed conceptual planning) and a broader sense (already contains conceptual planning).
