• Erythema – Redness of the skin that results from capillary congestion.• Macule – A change in the colour of skin that is neither raised nor depressed, less than 0,5cm• Patch – Large macule, size over 2cm• Papule – Small solid rounded growth on skin, less than 0,5cm in diameter• Plaque – Elevated area on skin greater than 2cm in diameter• Vesicle – Circumscribed elevation of skin less than 0,5cm, has fluid inside• Blister – Is a large vesicle, size over 0,5cm, has fluid inside• Pustule – A small collection of pus in the top layer of skin or beneath it in the dermis• Abscess – A local accumulation of pus, more than 1cm in diameter• Wheal – An elevated white area produced by dermal edema. It is often surrounded by a red axon-mediated flare• Angioedema – Diffuse swelling caused by oedema extending to subcutaneous tissue• Nodule – A small collection of tissue that is palpable at any level of the skin• Tumour – A swelling of a part of the body, generally without inflammation, caused by an abnormal growth of tissue

• Papilloma – Nipple-like projection from skin• Petechiae – Flat round red spots under the skin surface caused by intradermal haemorrhage, less than 0,3cm in diameter• Purpura – Haemorrhage into the surface of the skin, greater than 0,3cm in diameter• Ecchymosis – Non-raised skin discoloration caused by the escape of blood into the tissues from ruptured blood vessels• Haemotoma – Swelling from gross bleeding.• Burrow – Linear or curvilinear papule, some scaling, caused by scabies• Comedo – Hair follicle filled with keratin skin debris, bacteria and sebum. A comedo may be closed (whitehead) or open (blackhead)• Telangiectasia – Visible dilation of small cutaneous blood vessels• Poikiloderma – Combination of atrophy, reticulate hyperpigmentation and telangiectasia• Horn – Keratin projection that is taller than it is broad• Erythroderma – Generalized redness of skin that may be scaling or smooth• Cyst – Closed sac or capsule, usually filled with fluid or semisolid material
