  • Definition technology management technology management combines management, science and engineering It is used to plan, develop and improve technological skills in order to achieve the strategic and operational goals of a company. The knowledge of how to solve technological problems is brought into connection with economic and social aspects.      
  • Technology management goals Technology management aims at a - identification - selection - development - usage - probation of technologies that enable the company to survive in the market and achieve corporate goals.      
  • What is technology? The scientific or technical knowledge used to solve practical problems. -> A process or method, embodied (verkörpert) by a manufacturing process (Herstellungsprozess), whereby inputs in the form of labor, money, material or information are converted into outputs with a higher value.
  • What is an innovation? A new or significantly improved product (or service or process). Always a combination of invention and exploitation (commercial development, application and transfer)
  • types of innovations - product and service innovations -> generation / increase of sales-> establishment (Etablierung) on the market is necessary  - process innovations -> Enabling / improving processes / goods / services-> Establishment within the company necessary - Business Modell innovations
  • particularities (Besonderheiten) of technology - Types of innovation cant always be clearly defined (sind nicht immer klar abgrenzbar) - Product and process innovations often go hand in hand -Product innovation by the supplier can also mean process innovation for the buyer
  • Definition Business Model A business model describes the way in which a company creates values, disseminates (verbreiten) them and earns money from them      
  • Technology Management - core aspects - Includes developing and maintaining the company's technological competitiveness - Not only includes new technologies, but also existing ones - provides technologies for goods and services - Neglect the exploitation of consumers and the market
  • innovation management - core aspects - contains all possible types of innovations - Has to overcome resistance to innovation in the company itself and in the market - Focus on innovations in order to be able to optimally exploit the market potential - Combines technologies and needs for an ideal product / service delivery
  • F&E Management - core aspects - contains scientific and technological processes - Focus on fundamental research and further development of technologies based on practice - Often refers to recurring processes that are consciously (bewusst) planned, controlled and coordinated
