Anatomy (Fach) / Anatomy III (Lektion)
- Movements of the trunk 1. Flexion/Extension 2. Lateral Flexion 3. Rotation
- Muscles of the anterior and lateral abdominal wall + role - 2 rectus abdominis muscles (either side of the midline) - External/Internal/Transversus abdominis (anterolateral) - linea alba (connective tissue) --> attachment --> moving the trunk, pressure in the abdominal cavity
- Muscles of the back + role - erector spinae (along each side of the spinous processesof the vertebrae) --> 3 discrete groups --> extension of spine, erect posture
- Movements at the scapulothoracic and glenohumeral joint 1. Scapulothoracic joint movements scapula: - Protraction/retraction - Elevation/depression - Rotation 2. Glenohumeral joint: - multi-axial
- Muscles acting upon the glenohumeral joint 1. Deltoid (thick triangular) - prox. attachment to the clavicle (acromion process + spine) - dist. attachment to shaft of humerus --> abduction, flexion, extension 2. Pectoralis major - prox. attachment to clavicle, manubrium and body of sternum - dist. attachment to humerus + lip of intertubercular (bicipital) groove
