Upper limb (2) - Elbow joint and forearm
Diese Lektion wurde von Lydiamarieluise erstellt.
- What happens at the elbow joint? The humerus articulates with the ulna and the radius at the capitulum and trochlea respectively --> Hinge joint (uni axial - flexion and extension)
- Which parts does the radius consist of? - head - Neck - radial tuberosity - body/shaft - ulnar notch (inferior articulation with the ulna) - styloid process
- Which parts does the ulna consist of? - Olecranon process - Trochlear notch - radial notch - coronoid process - body/shaft - head of ulna - styloid process of ulna
- Pronation and supination 1. Supination: hand in anatomical position - ulna and radius parallel with each other 2. Pronation: hand is turne around - radius lies diagonally across the ulna --> occurs at the joint between radius and ulna (radio-ulnar joint)
