• Was ist die Apartheid Discribe the Apartheid in South-Africa:At the 18th century dutch immigrants came to south-africa and capture the land with their shootguns. They use the land for cattle and sheep grazing. Without land the tribes must work on Boer farms to support them. This was the beginning of the apartheid.The apartheid was a political and social system.Although the white people was the minority, they rule the countryIn this System people in South-Africa was devided by their race and the races were forced to live apart from each other.The Apartheid was in use from 1948 to 1994.1994 the System was banned when Nelson Mandela became the first black president.There were laws which kept up the racial seperation.(Black people only have permissions to live and work in spezial areas for them - called Homelands. Reserved for balck Africans; Intependent Nations; These Homelands was overcrowded and had a bad infrastructure Back get only menial, dangerouse and badly paid jobs; by law required identification booklets; often harassed für ther passes; ANC - political organization für Africans encourages rights of black Africans.
• Why supported Nelson Mandela the springboks? The springboks was the national rugby team of South-Africa and they stand for the Apartheid, because rugby was the sport of the white people and the majority of the team members was white. While attending a rugbygame against England Mandela saw that all white people were cheering for the springboks but the black people where whooping for England- Same as he did in Prison as an inmate to provoke the jailer. The accomplishments of the springboks at this match and before the world cup was bad, thats why some black people saw the chance to change the colours and name of the national team. But Mandela knew, when they would take away the springboks, they would provoke the white people , and that was not the intention of Mandela anymore. Mandelas goal was to show everybody that he had forgiven the white people and wanted to reconsile the races.To do that, he ordered the springboks to go to the slums and teach the kids rugby. With that action he wanted to build a bund between white and black. Warum unterstützte Mandela die Springboks?
