  • syllabic - syllabic: from syllabic margins   + syllabic: form core of a syllable (Voakel m,n,l,r)  
  • consonantal - consonantal : continious unimpeded airflow (keine Hindernisse) ex. vowels and nasals     + consonantal: airflow is stopped in the oral cavity , completely or just a bit, causing friction
  • continuant - continuant- aiflow is stopped in the oral track   + continuant continous oral airflow   nasals can never be +/- continuant
  • coronal nur Zunge wichtig, front part of the tongue   + coronal sounds whoch involve the front part of the tongue   - coronal all sounds which do not involve the front part of the tongue f.ex labials, labio dentals.......    
  • anterior Mund wichtig front half of the mouth   + anterior : sounds where the passive articulators is the alveolar ridge or further forward     - anterior sound are produced further bach in the vocal tract
