Two known mechanisms:- Type II hypersensitivity reaction with host antibodies against donor HLA and WBCs- Induced by cytokines that are created and accumulate during the storage of blood products

Presentation:- Fever- Headaches- Chills- Flushing

Timing: Within 1-6 hours
