Nonsulfonamide inhibitor of cotransport system (Na+/K+/2Cl-) of thick ascending limp of loop of Henle.
Use: Diuresis in patients allergic to sulfa drugs.
Adverse effects: Similar to furosemide, but more ototoxic.
