Selective PDE-3 inhibitor.
In cardiomyocytes: ↑ cAMP accumulation → ↑ Ca2+ influx → ↑ inotropy and chronotropy.In vascular smooth muscle: ↑ cAMP accumulation → inhibition of MLCK activity → general vasodilation.
Use: Short-term use in acute decompensated HF.
Adverse effects: Arrhythmias, hypotension.
