B19 virus - Aplastic crisis in sickle cell disease- "Slapped cheek" rash in children (erythema infectiosum, or fifth disease)- RBC destruction in fetus leads to hydrops fetalis and death- In adults leads to pure RBS aplasia and rheumatoid arthritis-like symptoms- Rash and arthralgias (adults predominantly) are due to immune complexes in the skin and joints
